On-Call Daycare Chef
Sk’atsin Child Care – Chase, BC
Sk’atsin Child Care is looking for a reliable On-Call Chef to support our centre when our regular kitchen staff are away.
This position helps prepare nutritious meals and snacks for young children while maintaining a safe and clean kitchen environment.
Wage: $26/hour
Schedule: On-Call / As Needed 8:30 – 3:00
Location: Sk’atsin Child Care – Chase, BC
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children
• Follow approved menus and Canada Food Guide guidelines
• Maintain food safety, kitchen cleanliness, and sanitation standards
• Wash dishes and sanitize kitchen equipment
• Support staff with children’s allergy and dietary needs
• Follow the centre’s Food Safety and Sanitation Plans
Qualifications
- FoodSafe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience preparing food for groups (daycare, school, or community kitchen preferred)
• Experience managing food allergies and safe food preparation practices
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector required
Assets
- Experience working with children
• Experience in Indigenous communities or incorporating cultural foods
