Hourly Wage: $18.00-$22.00

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Irrigation Operator to join the Water/ Wastewater Team. Reporting to the Director of Water and Wastewater. This role is pivotal in providing service to the Neskonlith Irrigation system and its users.  The Irrigation Operator will work closely with the Water/ Wastewater team and landowners, band members, and contractors during the irrigation use season.

Key Responsibilities:

Community and irrigation duties:

  • Run the irrigation system on IR #1
  • Repair system as needed to maintain adequate flow for irrigation use.
  • Provide support related to irrigation system and landowners and contractors and band members.
  • Work collaboratively with Adams Lake Band as they are connected to the irrigation system also.
  • Monitor and maintain flows in the irrigation system for all users.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by relevant experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • Proven capability to work well in the outdoors and physically fit.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor based.
  • Semi- isolated as the irrigation system starts close to Neskonlith lake without many residences in the area.
  • Balance various requests and tasks while being prepared for emerging challenges.
