Position Title: Human Resources Manager

Term: Full-time, Permanent, 35 hours a week, 8:00AM – 3:30PM M-F
Location: Neskonlith Indian Band Office
Hourly Wage: $30.00 – $38.00 depending on experience

Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Human Resources and will work as part of a team to undertake a wide range of Human Resource tasks, like hiring and onboarding, organizing trainings, administering employee benefits and leave, health, and safety, and crafting Human Resource policies. The Manager will use the Human Resource Information System to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. The successful candidate will have experience handling sensitive and confidential information while providing administrative support, engaging in employee relations, employee communication, and ensuring the efficient operations of the Human Resources Department. This position requires someone who has excellent organization, attention to detail, and customer service skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Executive Director and Department Directors and Managers in the areas of record management, recruitment and selection, orientation, employee training, and performance management.
  • Develops and maintains a system of record-management and archiving Human Resources related documents, Including employee files, data tracking sheets and electronic files.
  • Creates and updates confidential records (i.e. Personal Information Forms, leaves, terminations, pay increases, etc.), ensures all documents are filed in the appropriate section of the personnel file.
  • Provides support to the Executive Director, Directors, and Managers with posting jobs, reviewing resumes, and screening potential candidates.
  • Reviews and recommends changes to existing Human Resources Policies
  • In collaboration with Directors and the Executive Director, creates and implements an onboarding and new hire orientation program, in-service training. and performance management process.
  • Handles highly sensitive and confidential matters relating to employee and organizational matters.
  • Conducts research, writes hiring reports, and prepares Briefing Notes for the Executive Director and or

Administrative and Reporting:
• Develop and maintain systems for efficient document handling and storage.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and data privacy standards.
• Prepare and submit reports and presentations as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and flexibly, with minimal supervision.
  • Compassionate and respectful approach to handling sensitive health information.
  • Must possess a valid BC Driver’s License and have access to a reliable, insured vehicle, and provide clean Driver’s Abstract.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment RCMP Criminal Record Check.
