Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Custodian who will be instrumental in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our Education facilities in Chase, BC. The Custodian will ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors, maintaining our commitment to high standards of hygiene and facility presentation.

Key Responsibilities:
Facility Cleaning and Maintenance:
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in all assigned areas including classrooms, offices, communal spaces, and restrooms.
• Perform detailed cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and polishing.
• Routinely sanitize surfaces, furniture, fixtures, and educational aids.
• Manage waste disposal processes, including regular disinfection of bins.
• Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
• Monitor and report on inventory levels of cleaning supplies; facilitate the ordering process as necessary.

Collaboration and Compliance:
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a unified approach to cleanliness and maintenance.
• Adhere strictly to cleaning and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests promptly.

Support and Setup:
• Assist with the setup and takedown of furniture and equipment for various events and activities.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and replenishing restroom supplies.

• Proven experience in custodial or janitorial roles, with a strong knowledge of cleaning techniques and materials.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
• Respect for privacy and professionalism; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Conditions:
• On-site role based in Chase, BC.
• Working Monday through Friday after school hours.
• Physical requirements include mobility and the ability to lift, carry, and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs.
• Must successfully pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
